Embodying live sardines

With this first publication we would like to introduce you to the Series How to embody live bait? and on this occasion we are referring to the most well-known and used bait in sport fishing, THE SARDINE.

As the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words, we leave you in an image the types of meat used in this bait.

According to some people, it is not recommended to fish through the spine because it is precisely this (the spine) that largely allows the movement of the fish, although it is still an effective option.

The most used option is the encarnación through the nose. To do this, locate the nostrils and pass the hook under them.

To take into account

The sardine is a fish that needs oxygen practically immediately, so try to carry it out as quickly as possible and throw it into the water so it can swim naturally.

If you use a cast net to capture sardines, always have the bucket with the oxygen motor on hand so they stay alive and fresh. Always use the dehooker or hook remover to remove the sabiki if you use it and this way you avoid touching the sardine and it maintains its natural appearance and smell.

In boat fishing, the tips of the tail are sometimes cut off so that the sardine does not return to the boat and swim forward. It is also a way to attract the attention of predators who, seeing that the sardine is alive but with defects in its swimming, see it as easy prey.

Here we leave you a video explaining these ways to embody the sardine:
