Follow FWC regulations

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is a government entity that manages fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and the benefit of people.1

About the standards development process
The FWC is responsible for managing Florida's fish and wildlife resources for their long-term well-being and the benefit of people. This often involves enacting and enforcing rules and regulations that govern human activity in many areas, such as hunting and fishing, operating boats, possessing captive wildlife, and dealing with nuisance animals.

Because rules are made, changed, and repealed throughout the year, agency staff frequently interact with affected individuals and the general public. All information is reflected and developed on its official website FWC Official Site

Fishing
In the case of fishing, FWC has a registry of the areas; Saltwater for salt or sea water and Freshwater for fresh water (rivers, reservoirs, lakes) and the species that develop in these areas with which the public interacts and in this way establish regulations for each of them.
  • To know the Saltwater regulations in the recreational modality, follow this link: Saltwater
*In this mode you can review three categories: General Species, Reef Fish and Crabs, lobsters and other seafood. Select the category of your interest and review the regulations for the species you want to catch before going fishing.
  • To know the Freshwater regulations in the recreational mode, follow this link: Freshwater
Please note that FWC was combined in 2012 with the Law Enforcement Division of the Department of Environmental Protection and parts of the Bureau of Agricultural Law Enforcement of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, making them Authorized Agents apply fines and even apply sanctions and lead to arrests for not respecting the regulations.

We advise our followers to carefully follow the regulations.
